Philippines PADI IDC Schedule
Below are the schedules for the PADI IDC Prep Course, the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) and the PADI Instructor Exam (IE).
2011 brought the first ever IEs to Malapascua, and in 2012 there will be six on the island! If you are not able to attend one of these IDCs, we also hold IDC to coincide with Cebu IEs. All IDCs are held in Malapascua. If it is a Cebu IE you will need to go to Cebu for 2 nights, but we will make all the arrangements.

Please note that Assistant Instructor and EFRI courses can also be taught at any time. Even the IDC can be taught on demand and we arrange one-on-one courses. For those who arrive a little earlier, we prefer to teach the EFRI in advance and sometimes also teach the AI at an earlier date. This can be advantageous for several reasons:
- As the EFRI course is not part of the IE, it is not necessary to do it at the same time as the IDC. You will have plenty to do during the IDC and completing the EFRI in advance takes the pressure off and makes for less work.
- You practice similar skills in the AI and OWSI in terms of Academic, Confined and Open Water presentations. Doing the AI in advance gives you a good idea of what to expect from the OWSI, makes you better able to prepare, and a longer time to process the skills that you learn. Repetition over a longer time period will help you retain the information.
- It will reduce your stress level during the OWSI and you can relax and enjoy.
Rest days can also be used as study days or skill practice days with the IDC staff, or you can go on dives with Thresher Shark Divers: usually you will get some FREE dives with your package!
