Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI)Anyone can become EFR certified or an EFR Instructor, it is not even required to be a diver. These courses teach first aid and CPR skills that are valuable for everyone on the planet. As well as an adult First Aid and CPR Instructor you will become a Care for Children Instructor and will be able to teach infant and child CPR techniques. If you are planning on becoming a PADI Instructor, you are required to be an EFR Instructor prior to your PADI IDC. If you became a PADI Instructor before the pre-requisite was introduced or need to renew your certification, remember that it is of great value to be an EFR Instructor. It will make you more employable and more able to teach Rescue and DM courses. Many dive instructors (including ourselves) have found it the "foot in the door" they needed in order to get a competitive PADI Dive Instructor job. To remove some of the stress and workload during the PADI IDC, why not think about doing this in advance? We offer EFRI on request, as well as regularly scheduled EFR Instructor courses as part of our PADI IDCs.
